Submitting articles, fiction, poetry
and artwork; our policies.
HOW TO SUBMIT ARTICLES, FICTION, LETTERS, POEMS AND ARTWORK:
We ask that articles be typewritten and double spaced (1,000
word limit). For fiction we suggest 1,500-2,500 word length. Letters
should be limited to 300 words.
Poetry should be sent as you would like it see it on the page.
Artwork can be sent via email, but if you can send a hard copy
(no larger than 8.5"x11") through the post that would make our
graphic coordinator very happy. Please submit to: Women's Voices,
P.O. Box 1924, Sebastopol, CA 95473-1924.
We reserve the right to edit copy, and will contact the author
if major changes are required. Please include name, address, and
phone number.
DEADLINE FOR COPY IS THE 10th OF EACH MONTH.
POLICIES:
The opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of the
Women's Voices staff or of the Women's Support Network
Board.
We welcome input from the community and will consider for publication
any material of interest by, for, and about women that is not
sexist, ageist, racist, slanderous, or homophobic in content.
Past, current and upcoming theme issues
Thank you for your theme issue ideas. The 10th of every month
is the deadline for theme issues. Suggested word length: articles,
750 to 1,000; short stories, 1,500 to 2,500. Please mail double-spaced
hardcopy, art, and photographs to: Women's Voices, P.O.
Box 1924, Sebastopol, CA 95473-1924. Include your name, address,
phone number, and email address (if you have one). If possible,
also send copy electronically, either on disk or by emailing it
to wv@sonic.net.
If you provide it, we will print a pithy write-up about you (and
your organization), with a contact number.
We are also seeking ideas or submissions for cover art.
Past theme issues have been Women and Voting, Voices of Young
Women, Transformation, Music, Courage, and Adventure. The upcoming
theme for the June-July 2005 issue will be: How do you nuture
the Earth?. Has your consciousness been raised significantly about
the perils of global warming, the virtues of sustainab ility of
earth's resources, and the way to measure your environmental :footprint?"
There has been a steady stream of suggestions on how to nurture
our planet, instead of how to destroy it. How have you responded?
Share your ideas, experiences, beliefs with other Women's Voices
readers. May 10th is the deadline for this topic.

HELP WANTED!
Women¹s
Voices needs an Ad Manager. No
advertising experience necessary. You must be responsible and very
organized.
The
job entails fielding ads that come to us, communicating with advertisers,
readying ads for layout, and communicating with our bookkeeper.
Some computer skills are required‹ability to use Photoshop 6.0 and
Pagemaker 7. It takes 10 to 15 hours a month,

months a year. We will train you in the basic procedure.
